Tomi Lamsa explained why he stayed in HC Salavat Yulaev after departure of all foreign players
The only foreigner who remained in the Ufa hockey club "Salavat Yulaev" was Tomi Lamsa. All foreign players, including coaches, left the Bashkir team. Some mentors help Lamsa prepare players for the semi-finals of the KHL East with Traktor remotely via SMS and video calls.
“The head coach is a responsible position for me. Everyone has different life situations and everyone experiences any pressure in different ways. I have long been accustomed to any kind of pressure, so I will stay in Ufa until the end,” Tomi Lamsa said.
According to the coach of the Salavat Yulaev team, in the upcoming series, the Ufa team is an "underdog". First of all, the advantage on the side of Chelyabinsk is the presence of foreign players and strong players in the squad.
Recall that on March 17 and 19, HC Salavat Yulaev will play the first two games of the second round of the playoffs of the Gagarin Cup in Chelyabinsk against Traktor. The Ufa Arena will host matches on March 21 and 23.
