It is planned to build bobsleigh complex in Ufa - Khabirov

The need to revive bobsleigh in the republic today at a meeting with the Olympians was noted by the honored coach of Russia, Rustem Faizov.

"Back in 1982, we held the All-Union Bobsleigh Competition in Meleuz. We have a rich tradition of victories at winter tournaments and the Olympics," Rustem Faizov said.

Meanwhile, as the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic was now considering a bobsleigh complex construction in Ufa.

"We want to build such a facility so that it can host competitions of the highest level," the Head of Bashkortostan stressed.

Yulia Chachina, Director of the Rima Batalova Republican Center for Sports Training, noted that more and more athletes from other regions were moving to Bashkortostan.

The winner and silver medalist of the XVIII Winter Olympic Games in 1998 in biathlon, a native of Ishimbay Galina Kukleva, via video link from Tyumen, also joined the congratulations to the Olympians of Bashkortostan.

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, noted that the republic would continue to strengthen the biathlon facilities and hold competitions in this sport at the highest level in Ufa. He instructed the Ministry of Sports of the republic to study the experience of other regions of the country and use it to develop the Biathlon sports complex and train the coaching staff.
