Jokerit hockey club left KHL
There are officially fewer teams in the Kontinental Hockey League. The club from Helsinki "Jokerit," will not take part in the playoffs. According to the president of the League, Alexei Morozov, the reason for the Jokerit departure was not a sports argument.
"We are very sorry to lose Jokerit, a strong and vibrant team with a recognizable style. Jokerit has been playing with us since the 2014/2015 season and consistently goes to the playoffs. Matches with all teams of the League were always interesting. It is very unpleasant that Jokerit's withdrawal is not due to sporting reasons, but to political ones," Morozov said.
The KHL will later announce a decision on the first round of the Gagarin Cup playoffs.
