Two athletes will represent Bashkiria at Paralympics in Beijing

The team of the Russian Paralympic Committee included two representatives of Bashkiria. The republic will be represented in cross-country skiing by the Honored Master of Sports Alexander Davidovich. The 37-year-old athlete with a lesion of the musculoskeletal system is a winner of two bronze medals of the Paralympic Games, two gold medals of the World Championship, the championship of Russia in cross-country skiing and biathlon.

Davidovich graduated from the Bashkir Institute of Physical Culture in 2018 with a degree in physical education. He trains at the Sports Training Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the coaching of Salavat Gumerov.

Another skier, Ilya Cherepanov, is a native of the city of Uchaly but represents Moscow in competitions. The representative of the sport of the blind previously won the bronze of the World Championship. Cherepanov is 34 years old. In 2009, he graduated from the Sterlitamak Institute of Physical Education with a degree in coaching.

As a reminder, the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing will start on March 4 and last until March 13. The ROC team included 71 athletes from 20 regions of the country.
