Daniil Kvyat will continue his career in World Endurance Championship

Russian Daniil Kvyat will compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2022. Kvyat joined the Russian team G-Drive Racing. His partners will be Australian James Allen and Austrian Rene Binder. For the 27-year-old Russian, the WEC season will be his debut, RIA Novosti reports. The World Championship starts in Sebring (USA) on March 16-18.

"I am delighted to join the Russian G-Drive Racing team, the most successful in the LMP2 prototype class. Prototype racing has always fascinated me. Every driver's dream is to compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the most famous and prestigious automotive events on the planet. This is a new challenge for me. This year's competition in the WEC is expected to be very intense, but together with the team and my crewmates, we are ready to compete. I'm looking forward to the first race," G-Drive Racing's press service quoted Kvyat as saying.

He is one of the best Russian pilots. Daniil's experience in Formula 1 and his work on the tests of the Grand Prix teams will be advantageous. I am sure that together we will be able to achieve the desired results," Roman Rusinov, sports director of G-Drive Racing, commented.

Recall that Daniil Kvyat, a native of Ufa, competed in the Formula 1 Alfa Tauri team in the 2020 season. He scored 32 points and finished 14th in the driver's standings.
