Russians Anton Babikov and Evgenia Burtasova won gold in single-mixed doubles at European Championship

The media reported that Russians Anton Babikov and Evgenia Burtasova won gold in the single mixed relay at the European Biathlon Championships in Arber, Germany.

Biathletes of the Russian national team excelled in the final race of the championship in a single-mixed event. Athletes ran the distance in 39 minutes 10.5 seconds, using seven extra rounds and running one penalty loop.

The second place went to the athletes from the French team. The third was the German team.

According to the results of the European Championship, the Russian team took second place in the medal standings, having won one gold medal, three silver, and one more bronze medal. The Norwegian team took first place (5 gold, 1 bronze).

Earlier, at the European Championships, Anton Babikov won a silver medal. The Bashkir athlete finished second in the men's individual 20 km race without allowing a single miss at four lines.
