Seven players of Ufa HC Agidel were included in Russian Olympic team

Nine Agidel players competed for a place in the Russian women's Olympic team to perform in Beijing. Only seven made it to the final line-up. The FHR has published a list of 23 players. It included the goalkeeper of the Ufa team Maria Sorokina, defenders Anna Shibanova, and Maria Pechnikova, forwards - Veronika Korzhakova, Ilona Markova, Olga Sosina. The reserve lists forward Polina Luchnikova.

The women's tournament of the Olympic Games will be held from February 3 to 17. Before its start, the Russians will play two control matches - on January 29 against the Czech Republic and on January 31 against the Chinese team. At the group stage, the Russians will play in "group A" against the teams of Switzerland, Finland, Canada, and the United States.
