

The Russian women's team has begun preparations for the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, which will be held from February 4 to 20. The day before, the national team's training camp started at the Novogorsk training center, in which 34 hockey players (4 goalkeepers, 11 defenders, and 19 forwards) took part.
Two teams have the largest representation in the national team - Agidel and Dynamo St. Petersburg. Nine Ufa hockey players will try to get into the final squad for the Olympics at once. The extended list of the Russian national team includes goalkeeper Maria Sorokina, defenders Maria Batalova, Maria Pechnikova, Anna Shibanova, forwards Veronika Korzhakova, Polina Luchnikova, Ilona Markova, Elizaveta Rodnova, Olga Sosina.
After compliance with all quarantine measures, the team will start training. The training camp program includes ice classes, athletic and gym classes. On January 26, the national team will travel to China, where, after passing the quarantine and re-testing, they will conduct the final stage of preparation for the tournament.
The women's tournament of the Olympic Games will be held from February 3 to 17 in Beijing. At the preliminary stage, the Russians will play in Group A against the teams of Switzerland, Finland, Canada, and the USA.
