Ufa resident Nikita Bogdanov reached final of World Championship

The current champion of Russia and Europe in motorcycle racing on ice, Nikita Bogdanov from the Kadyrov Center for Technical Sports in Ufa, won the qualifying competition for the World Championship held in Örnsköldsvik (Sweden). The Ufa sportsman won all his races and scored 15 points. In the final race, he overtook the silver medalist of the Russian Championship, Dmitry Khomitsevich, who came in second with 14 points.

The top eight, which received the right to start in the final, also included Ove Ledström (Sweden) - 13 points, Harald Simon (Austria) - 10, Franz Mayerbühler (Germany) - 9, Aki Ala-Rihimaki - 9, Max Koivula (both - Finland ) - 8, and Lukas Gutla (Czech Republic) - 8.

The reigning world champion Dinar Valeev from Ufa and six racers who received cards of permanent participants in the finals were admitted to the final without participation in the qualifying competitions. These are Dmitry Koltakov (Kamensk-Uralsky) and Igor Kononov (Togliatti), Austrian Franz Zorn, Dutchman Jasper Ivema, German Johan Weber, and Swede Martin Haarahiltunen, who qualified for the Russian Championship.

The first two finals will be held in Tolyatti on February 12-13. Here, the listed athletes will be joined by Nikita Toloknov and two reserve racers of the track - also representatives of the Togliatti "Mega-Lada" Ivan Huzhin and Igor Saidullin.

The third and fourth stages of the final in Inzel (Germany) have already been canceled due to problems related to the coronavirus. At the same time, the fifth and sixth should take place in Heerenveen (Netherlands) on April 2-3.
