

The Kontinental Hockey League has decided to postpone all regular season matches scheduled before the Olympic break to a later date. Thus, the home matches of HC Salavat Yulaev against Barys (January 15), CSKA (January 17), and Ak Bars (January 19) will be held on other days.
“The number of players, coaches and team representatives who tested positive for coronavirus amounted to 171 people, of which 124 are hockey players, the increase over the last day was 60 people (of which 27 are hockey players),” the KHL website states.
According to the president of the league, Alexey Morozov, the postponed games will also take place during the Olympic pause.
“The new KHL calendar will be published before the end of January. The FHR has confirmed our ability to hold matches during the Olympics; we are in touch to jointly resolve the situation,” Morozov said.
More than 20 players, coaches, and staff have a mild form of coronavirus in the Salavat Yulaev team.
