Bashkiria athletes won 12 medals in first days of 2022

In the first nine days of 2022, Bashkir athletes replenished the republic's medal count with 12 medals of various denominations. Representatives of Bashkiria won seven gold, two silver, and three bronze awards at all-Russian and international competitions. This was announced by the Minister of Sports of the Republic, Ruslan Khabibov, at the weekly briefing session held by the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov.

On January 1, Rostislav Gaitukevich and Mikhail Mordasov won the gold medal in a 2-men bobsleigh race at the sixth stage of the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup in the Latvian city of Sigulda.

On January 6, motorcycle racer Nikita Bogdanov from the Ufa Center for Technical Sports became the first at the Russian Motorcycle Ice Racing Championship in the Sverdlovsk Region.

The athlete from Birsk Matvey Tychinkin won the "Christmas starts-2022" in the "high jump" discipline, showing the result of 2.25 m.

On January 8, in Oberhof, Germany, Anton Babikov from Ufa, together with Kristina Reztsova, won the gold medal in the mixed relay of the Biathlon World Cup.

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, congratulated the winners on well-deserved awards and wished them further sporting success.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that 2022 was declared the Year of Volleyball in Bashkiria.
