26 athletes from Bashkiria are among candidates for Russian national team at 2022 Olympics in Beijing

The Russian Olympic Committee has identified the names of candidates for the national team to prepare for the Winter Olympics to be held in Beijing in 2022.

In total, the list of candidates included 599 athletes who will represent the following sports: biathlon, bobsleigh, skeleton, alpine skiing, curling, speed skating, combined skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, luge, snowboarding, figure skating, freestyle, hockey, short track.

The list of candidates included 26 athletes from Bashkortostan.

Thus, Anton Babikov and Eduard Latypov are among the candidates for the Olympic biathlon team. The list of bobsledders applying for a trip to China includes Yulia Belomestnykh, Alexandra Tarasova, Rastislav Gaityukevich, Georgy Kuzmenko, Alexander Tretyakov, Ilvir Khuzin. Ernest Yakhin is among the candidates in ski combined, Elizaveta Salikhova is in snowboarding, and Viktor Lobas is in speed skating. The following athletes can go on the ice in the outfit of the Russian hockey team: Maria Batalova, Daria Beloglazova, Veronika Korzhakova, Polina Luchnikova, Ilona Markova, Maria Pechnikova, Anna Prugova, Elizaveta Rodnova, Maria Sorokina, Olga Sosina, Tatiana Shibanova, Mikhail Naumenkov. Also, short trackers Anastasia Migunova, Semyon Elistratov, and Lim Kabirov claim to be included in the Russian national team.

The Beijing Olympics will be held from February 4 to 20, 2022. By decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the Russian national team will compete without a national flag and anthem.
