In August 2022, Ufa will become one of the ten capitals of the Volleyball World Championship. The France, Slovenia, Germany, and Cameroon teams will compete at the Ufa-Arena to reach the next stage of international competitions. According to the Minister of Sports of the Republic, Ruslan Khabibov, this event will serve as a reference point for Bashkir athletes.
"This is the level of skill that will help attract new guys and girls to volleyball clubs," the regional Minister said. "An important issue here is infrastructural planning. Unfortunately, the timing of the construction of a volleyball center in Ufa has shifted due to the spread of new coronavirus infection, but, of course, such large competitions provide us with the necessary tools to promote the construction of new sports facilities."
Recall that the 2022 World Cup in Russia will be opened with a match of the Russian national team against the Tunisian team in St. Petersburg on August 26.
