HC Salavat Yulaev beat Avtomobilist and secured tenth victory of season

Before the last match in September, the Salavat Yulaev hockey club returned to the first line of the KHL strength index. Tomi Lamsa's team was in second place for only one week. Salavat Yulaev had nine victories and one defeat on their account. The first rival of the Ufa team from the short home series came from Yekaterinburg. Avtomobilist celebrated the victory in five matches out of 11. However, the last two matches were not in favor of Bill Peters' players.

In the starting period, Salavat and Avtomobilist exchanged penalties. The guests could not capitalize on it, but the hosts were luckier. Shakir Mukhamadullin scored the second goal of the season.

In the 26th minute of the match, the Yekaterinburg hockey players were shorthanded again, and Salavat Yulaev doubled the lead. Nikolay Kulemin scored the next goal. Then Avtomobilist caught the Ufa squad on a counterattack and closed the gap with Bocharov's precise throw. It seemed that the first goal against Juha Metsola would inspire Pitters' team, but the hockey players in the red and white outfit conceded the third goal. Sakari Manninen shot into an empty corner of the goalkeeper Shikin's net - 3: 1.

Towards the end of the match, the guests forced the Ufa players to take a penalty and capitalized on the powerplay. The coaching staff of the Yekaterinburg club took a time-out and changed the goalkeeper to an extra player, trying to bring the game into overtime. Nevertheless, Salavat Yulaev built a wall and did not let the opponent take two points. It was Salavat Yulaev's tenth win of the season.
