Book about Russian wrestling was presented in Ufa

Within the framework of the Junior World Wrestling Championships in the capital of Bashkortostan, the book “Russian Wrestling Hall of Fame” was presented.

The book tells about the national wrestling and its main heroes. Separate chapters are devoted to Ivan Poddubny, Buvaysar Saitiev, Alexander Karelin, Ivan Yarygin, Alexander Medved, Anatoly Parfenov. The book also dwells on the prospects of wrestling in Russia and summarizes the results of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The book describes in detail the history and development of wrestling in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Materials and photographs used in the publication are provided by the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The journalist Lilia Shafikova took an active part in the preparation of the publications. The chapters on the Bashkir wrestling tell about the outstanding athlete and coach Vladimir Borman, who had a huge impact on the development of wrestling here, and about Boris Ponyatov, the follower of Borman's traditions.

The concept of the book belongs to Georgy Bryusov, the producers are Sergei Moskvitin and Artem Pozdeev. The book uses materials by Yan Dymov, Vladimir Golubev, Evgeny Bogatyrev, Vladimir Belov, Israel Totoonti, Vladimir Voronin, Andrey Mitkov, Yuri Shakhmuradov and Tigran Avanyan.
