Bashkiria athlete became world champion in grappling without fight
The Junior World Grappling Championship fights started today at the Ufa-Arena. The cadets were the first on the mats. The Bashkir wrestler Karina Murzabayeva was among them. The girl was supposed to perform in the category of cadets up to 43 kg. However, there were no rivals for her. So the girl won the gold medal and turned out to be the undisputed world champion in her category without a fight.
“I still don’t feel like a champion and initially, I didn’t understand how everything would turn out. I was counting on the second place,” Karina commented on her victory.
Earlier, the Bashinform agency reported that Karina Murzabaeva and her sister Adelina were trained by the Sterlitamak coach, 2007 world belt wrestling champion Alfiya Alimguzhina.
