68 sets of awards will compete for juniors in grappling at World Championships in Ufa

The Junior World Wrestling Championships started at the Ufa Arena on August 13. The first to enter the mats were athletes in the grappling category. Participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Croatia, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, the Philippines, Russia, and Romania will compete for 68 sets of awards over two days.

The most numerous national teams in grappling competitions were Russia and Kazakhstan. 79 athletes represent the colors of the Russian tricolor, 57 - Kazakhstan.

On August 16, freestyle wrestling starts at the Ufa-Arena, and Greco-Roman wrestling starts on August 20.

Recall that the Junior World Wrestling Championships gathered participants from 53 countries and became the first show of potential participants in the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
