Putin awarded champion and medalist of 2020 Olympics from Bashkiria Zagidullina and Safin

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding state awards to athletes for developing national sports, high sporting achievements and the will to win, perseverance, and dedication shown at the Tokyo Olympics. The list of awardees included two representatives of Bashkiria.

According to the document, the champion of the Tokyo Games in fencing, Adelina Zagidullina, received the Order of Friendship, and the silver medalist in fencing received the medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 1st degree.

Recall that Zagidullina won the Olympic gold medal in the team standings, Safin also had a silver medal for the team performance.
