Russian swimmer Evgeny Rylov won his second gold of Tokyo Olympics
Russian athlete Evgeny Rylov won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, being the fastest in 200 meters backstroke final. This is the ninth highest award for the national team at the Games.
The 24-year-old Russian has set a new record by swimming the distance in 1 minute 53.27 seconds, the Championat reports. The second place went to American Ryan Murphy, 0.88 seconds behind Rylov, followed by British Luke Greenbank.
This is the second gold medal at these Olympic Games for Evgeny Rylov. Previously, he became the strongest in swimming at a distance of 100 meters backstroke. Another Russian came second - Kliment Kolesnikov.
