Construction of a rowing canal for 250 million rubles will begin in Ufa in 2022. The Minister of Sports of Bashkiria Ruslan Khabibov told about this at the briefing "Ufa - Tokyo. Olympics 2020" on the BST TV channel on July 26.

"Today, we have an outstanding sports reserve in rowing and rowing slalom. We need to create infrastructure. The issue of building a rowing canal in the Inors neighborhood of Ufa has already been resolved. We went through all stages of preparation, including construction documentation. In 2022, we will start construction at the expense of a federal source, which allocates 250 million for the first stage, namely for the rowing canal," he said.

The Minister of Sports RB hopes that athlete Alsu Minazova (rowing slalom) will be preparing at home in Ufa for the next Olympics.

It was also noted that at the moment, rowing slalom in the republic is presented only in Ufa and Uchaly. This sport requires global facilities: boats, bases, stagnant water bodies. Bashkortostan has a sufficient number of necessary reservoirs; only the bases, kayaks, and canoes are lacking. They are especially expensive. The national team of the republic tries to train in open water; in winter, the training takes place in Krasnodar.

"In the future, the issue of allocating a land plot for the construction of a fencing center is being resolved. Then there will be the stages of design and construction," Ruslan Khabibov added. "In recent years, we have been able to attract federal funding. Thus, more than 450 million rubles were attracted back in December last year to construct a gymnastics center on Aurora Street. Now Russia is the leader in artistic gymnastics in the world. Also next year a new football arena will be opened. The plans are quite good; I hope they will all be implemented."
