HC Salavat Yulaev signed goalkeeper and experienced striker

The Ufa ice hockey club Salavat Yulaev found a backup for the Finnish team goalkeeper Juha Metsola. The Bashkir team made an exchange with CSKA. The Moscow club will receive monetary compensation, and goalkeeper Alexander Sharychenkov will arrive in the capital of our republic.

“For a long time, we were looking for a candidate to strengthen our goalkeeper team and decided to choose Alexander Sharychenkov. We got a powerful and experienced goalkeeper for nominal monetary compensation, who during his career played in such clubs as Dynamo, Neftekhimik, and CSKA. In the past season, Alexander played many matches for the CSKA team. Sharychenkov sees the game well and, very important for us, knows how to play in challenging moments - with strong opponents, at the playoff stage. In a personal conversation, we were convinced that Alexander also has a great desire to show his best qualities in our club,” Vasily Chizhov, sports director of Salavat Yulaev, said.

The experienced striker Stepan Sannikov also joined the Ufa club. The 30-year-old forward has signed a one-year contract with Salavat Yulaev. Previously, he played for Ak Bars, Sibir, and Lokomotiv.
