The first meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports was held in Ufa today. The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, noted that it was taking place on the eve of the world championship in wrestling among juniors, which will be held for the first time in our country. The championship starts on August 11. Next year, Bashkortostan will host the World Volleyball Championship, and in 2025 Eurasiada - the Eurasian Championship in national and non-Olympic sports.
The Head of the Republic noted that conditions are being created in the region to prepare champions and develop mass sports. Last year alone, 104 sports facilities, 14 gyms, 3 swimming pools, 115 urban infrastructure facilities were commissioned. The republic is the second in the country in the rating of regions by the number of sports facilities - and we have almost 13 thousand of them (1st place - Moscow, 23.9 thousand, 3rd place - Tatarstan, 11.1 thousand).
Recently, the Rima Batalova Sports Training Center was recognized as the best sports facility in Russia at the All-Russian Forum "I Live by Sport".
"This year 12 more sports facilities will be commissioned. They began to build an indoor football arena in Ufa, a sports complex for artistic gymnastics. We completed the design of the International Wrestling Palace, Volleyball Center, and rowing slalom. Until 2024, all regional centers will be provided with sports and entertainment centers with swimming pools. "
"More than 1 million 800 thousand people are engaged in physical culture and sports in our republic. This year, which has been declared the Year of Health and Active Longevity in the republic, we set the task to increase this figure by another 100 thousand," Radiy Khabirov said.
31 basic sports are developing in Bashkortostan. 136 sports institutions train the reserve for the national teams of Russia, in which about 100 thousand people are engaged. This year, subsidies for 80 million rubles will be received by 14 districts and cities that have trained members of the national teams of Russia and Bashkortostan.
The republic will continue to build volleyball and basketball courts, hockey rinks, outdoor exercise equipment in residential areas, and equip grounds for taking GTO tests ("fit for labor and defense").
"Since last year, for the first time in the country, it is in our republic that the pilot project "Rural Coach" is being implemented," the Head of the Region reported.
The project has attracted great interest and has already received approval at the federal level for creating conditions for sports in the villages.
"Today in Bashkortostan, more than 8 thousand people are engaged in wrestling - wrestling, belt wrestling, and kuresh. We are proud of our international class sports masters, world champions. Moreover, we are proud that Ufa is chosen as the venue for the world wrestling championship", Radiy Khabirov said.
