Ufa epee fencer dedicated her world championship victory to her deceased coach

Polina Khaertdinova from Ufa won two gold medals at the World Championship. She won the first gold medal in the team competition, the second - in the individual event. Thus, the athlete became the first epee fencer in the history of Bashkir fencing to win the gold of the World Championship.

Polina started to fence with a black bandage on her arm. Thus, the girl honored her coach's memory, master of sports of Russia Mikhail Vyacheslavovich Durnev. The coach passed away on the eve of the competition - March 30.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that Ufa fencers Egor Barannikov and Adelina Bikbulatova also won gold medals in the team championship.

On April 17, Bashkir athletes will represent the republic at the Russian Championship in Novosibirsk.
