Ak Bars took lead in playoff series with HC Salavat Yulaev

The seventh "green derby" in the history of the Gagarin Cup started in Kazan. The first minutes of the major confrontation looked nervous. Only a mistake by Grigory Panin made it possible to open a score in the first match of the second round.

After the break, the Kazan team continued to storm the gates of Juha Metsola. Mikhail Glukhov doubled the hosts' lead, but after a few seconds, Vladislav Kartaev reduced the gap - 2: 1. The third goal to the net of the Finnish goalkeeper of Salavat Yulaev was scored while the Kazan club was shorthanded. In the 30th minute, Nigel Daws hit the far corner of the guest's net, and Metsola went to the bench. Daniil Tarasov appeared on the ice with a score 4:1, thereby making his debut in the KHL playoffs.

In the third period, Tomi Lamsa's team took a chance and released the sixth field player on the powerplay long before the final siren. Nevertheless, Bilyalov did not miss anymore. The numbers on the scoreboard were 4: 1 quite traditionally this season. Ak Bars took the lead in the series with HC Salavat Yulaev 1-0.
