Ilya Zayats from Ufa ran 70 half-marathons in 70 days and has no plans to stop
“Actually, today is the 71st day,” Ilya admitted. The Ufa businessman and journalist runs a half-marathon distance of 21 km 97.5 meters every day. It all started back in October and continues to this day.
“Usually, a person needs to recover 3-4 days after running a half-marathon. Running half-marathons for 70 days in a row is quite an extreme challenge. I have not heard about anyone doing it. I decided to give it a try and show people that if I can run a half-marathon for 70 days without a break, it means that they can go for a 4-kilometer run at least three times a week,” Ilya shared with a journalist of the Bashinform News Agency.
Ilya runs in any weather - a 30-degree frost or a blizzard. Each run takes about 2 - 2.5 hours.
Initially, he had no idea if he could run 3, 5, 10 days in a row. However, now the runner has set himself an ambitious goal - to bring the number of days to 100.
