Salavat Yulaev finished 2020 with victory over Metallurg and over 1 million rubles raised

In the final match of 2020, the Salavat Yulaev ice hockey club hosted Metallurg (Magnitogorsk) on the Ufa Arena ice. At the same time, fans of the Bashkir team started to raise 200 thousand rubles for a three-year-old Mirlan diagnosed with an unverified brain stem tumor. The kid needs components and backup power supplies for a lung ventilator.
Salavat Yulaev opened the score one and a half minutes after the starting whistle. The guests' goalkeeper Vasily Koshechkin failed to fix the puck, lost sight of it, and Geoff Platt was quick. Mikhail Naumenkov doubled the hosts' advantage in the meeting's eighth minute, playing a beautiful goal combination with Granlund and Hartikainen. The rivals left for the first break with a score of 2: 1. Andrey Chibisov hit the net of Juha Metsola in the 15th minute. In the meantime, the fans of Salavat Yulaev and the club's partners collected almost 400 thousand rubles. This amount was twice the amount required for Mirlan's treatment. However, the campaign did not stop. The rest of the money went to help other sick children.
In the 24th minute of the match, Metallurg celebrated the second goal in the capital of Bashkiria. But in vain. The referees decided to reconsider the moment and canceled the goal, as they recorded a kick. Towards the end of the second period, Metallurg evened the score with the help of a throw performed by Bogdan Potekhin - 2: 2.
By the end of the game, the funds raised for children's treatment exceeded one million rubles. However, the scorer of the second goal of the guests was seriously injured by the middle of the period. Potekhin was able to go to the bench only with the help of partners. Metallurg hit the net before that, but the referees immediately saw a hand pass, and the goal was not scored. Tomi Lamsa's players in the 46th minute were able to come out ahead. Evgeny Lisovets assisted Vladimir Zharkov. The guests from Magnitogorsk tried to save the situation but missed the Ufa counterattack. Alexander Kadeikin changed the score on the scoreboard - 4: 2.
The guests attacked as six players, but not a single puck flew behind Metsola's back.
The final amount of the charitable donation was 1,280,819 rubles. Note that hockey players allocated 200 thousand rubles for New Year's charity from their personal funds.
Salavat Yulaev will start the game year 2021, meeting Avtomobilist at home on January 3.
