CAS Sports Court deprived Ufa biathlete Maxim Chudov of Olympic bronze medal

Ufa biathlete Maxim Chudov has lost his bronze Olympic medal. The CAS Sports Court found Russian Evgeny Ustyugov guilty of doping. It was with him Maxim Chudov took third place at the Vancouver Olympics in the relay race. Therefore, all participants are deprived of the award.

According to the sports court's anti-doping commission, Evgeny Ustyugov is guilty of doping and deprived of three medals won at the Vancouver and Sochi Olympics in 2010 and 2014. Other results of Ustyugov for this period are also canceled.

The International Biathlon Union initiated the case. The organization reconsidered its decision from 2018 and sent a complaint due to the increased hemoglobin level in the biathlete's blood.
