Salavat Yulaev had its first home defeat against HC Sochi

Despite news of the first positive test for COVID-19 of head coach Tomi Lamsa and strikers Markus Granlund and Danila Bashkirov, Salavat Yulaev entered the game with HC Sochi. Coach Viktor Kozlov led the Bashkir team. Rodion Amirov appeared in the first line of foreign players. Daniil Tarasov was announced as the second goalkeeper.

During the first 30 minutes of playing time, Salavat Yulaev conceded three goals scored by Dmitry Kolgotin and Nikita Tochitsky (double). A couple of minutes later, Salavat Yulaev managed to win back one goal. It was Manninen who made the final throw.

By the middle of the third segment of the match, Viktor Kozlov's players capitalized on the power play. Kadeikin earned the second point in this meeting, and Kugryshev completed the combination - 2: 3.

The coaching staff of the hosts went all-in one minute before the final siren, having replaced Metsola with the sixth player. The puck ended up in the net of Joel Lassinantti. However, after watching the video, it turned out that Kadeikin had kicked the goal. The remaining seconds were not enough for Salavat Yulaev to turn the match into overtime. The green squad suffered their first home defeat in the 2020/2021 KHL season.

Salavat Yulaev will play the next match with the Chelyabinsk Traktor on September 24.
