Salavat Yulaev defeated Neftekhimik in second match for Bashkortostan Cup

HC Salavat Yulaev met with Neftekhimik in the second match for the Cup of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The guests were excited as they had won the first match of the preseason tournament. However, Salavat Yulaev craved for victory after the offensive defeat by Traktor in overtime.

The Ufa team was the first to open the score. Two defenders Biryukov and Larsen helped Manninen - 1:0. Mikhail Vorobyov doubled Salavat's lead 22 seconds before the break assisted by Dmitry Kugryshev.

The second segment of playing time went up until the first error. Panin missed the striker and was forced to foul. The defender was punished for this with a penalty shot by Groshev. The home team hesitated in front of their net. The same Panin closed the puck with himself, but an unsuccessful rebound in front of Sukhachev and a goal by Libor Gudachek was not long in coming - 2:2.

Kartaev again brought Salavat Yulaev ahead four minutes before the break with a pass from Semyonov and Soshnikov. However, this was not the end of scoring in the second period. Again, a goal to gloom over in the Nizhnekamsk locker room was scored by Artem Pimenov - 4: 2.

An incredible save by Neftekhimik goalkeeper Fyodor Korotaev marked the start of the third period of the match. But then Vladislav Sukhachev failed the play: the puck slipped into the near corner, which seemed to be closed by the goalkeeper of the Bashkir team - 4: 3. Ilya Baranov scored the fifth goal.

Then Salavat Yulaev outplayed the guests from Tatarstan tactically, which naturally turned into the sixth goal long-awaited by fans. Markus Granlund opened his scoring for Salavat Yulaev. The hosts' scoring show continued with Kartaev's double, and such a productive match ended with Kugryshev's goal on the powerplay - 8: 3.

Salavat Yulaev will play the final match of the preseason tournament against Severstal Cherepovets on August 13.
