Daniil Kvyat explained his refusal to participate in Black Lives Matter campaign before race start

A native of Ufa, Formula 1 pilot Daniil Kvyat, on Channel One, explained his refusal to kneel as part of the Black Lives Matter campaign.
"When they suggested kneeling as a gesture of the fight against racism, it was not quite clear to me, as it was a little against my Russian mentality, when they kneel to the homeland, to the flag, to God," said Daniil Kvyat.
"All the racers are united in the fight against racism; we showed our position by wearing shirts with the inscription "End to Racism" before the race.
In addition to Kvyat, Finn Kimi Raikkonen, Italian Antonio Giovinazzi, Spaniard Carlos Sainz, Dutchman Max Verstappen, and Monegasque Charles Leclair remained standing before the race in Austria.
