Russian U-17 team defeated Finland at Five Nations Tournament in Ufa

After defeating their peers from Sweden as part of the Five Nations Tournament, the junior team of Russia U-17 hosted the Finnish team on the ice of Ufa-Arena. The first 20 minutes were goalless. However, after the break, the Russians attacked the gate of Yuso Heloma. In the second period, the Russian team managed to upset the goalkeeper of the Suomi national team three times. All the goals were scored in the power play, Ivan Miroshnichenko, Matvey Petrov and Ilya Ivantsov were goalscorers.

However, the guests from Finland responded with an accurate throw into the gates of Valery Brinkman - 3: 1.

In the final segment of the playing time, Vsevolod Gaydamak increased the lead to three goals. However, the Finns pulled one goal back soon - 4: 2. Danila Yurov scored the final goal in the match in two and a half minutes before the end. The 16-year-old defender intercepted the puck and sent it to the empty net of the Suomi team - 5: 2.

The Russians will play their next match at the Ufa Arena on Saturday, February 8. The beginning is at 7.00 pm, Ufa time.
