Bashkir biathlete Anton Babikov won second race in row at Russian Cup

The 2017 world champion, three-time European champion Anton Babikov won a second victory in the eighth stage of the Russian Biathlon Cup in the Kirov region. On Thursday, February 6, the biathlete became the champion of Russia in the super-pursuit, having passed all four firing lines without missing. At the finish, he beat Alexander Povarnitsyn from Udmurtia, who was also accurate at all firing lines. The third place went to Rustam Kayumov, representing the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

A day earlier, Babikov won the sprint race. The second was Evgeny Idinov (Tyumen region), the third - Maxim Makarov (Udmurtia).

Earlier, Babikov failed to qualify for the Russian national team at the European Championships in Otepää (Estonia).
