Bashkir foil fencers won all gold in Russian Fencing Cup

The fencers from Bashkiria won all the gold medals at the Russian Fencing Cup, which takes place in Sochi at the South Sports federal sports training center. Competitions are held in three disciplines - sword, epee, and rapier, about 70 of the country's strongest fencers participate in them.

Olympic champion Inna Deriglazova lost to Ufa native Anastasia Ivanova and won silver. Bronze went to the Bashkir athlete Adelina Zagidullina.

Among men, gold went to the Olympic champion from Ufa Timur Safin, who won the match against Dmitry Zherebchenko. Bronze again went to the fencer from Bashkiria - Timur Arslanov.

Bashkir foil fencers were also in the lead in the team competition: gold among the fours Anastasia Ivanova - Adelina Zagidullina - Adelina Bikbulatova - Elina Ibragimova and Timur Safin - Timur Arslanov - Iskander Akhmetov - Askar Khamzin.

The Russian Cup is the qualifying stage at which the participants of the national team of the country are selected.
