Bashkortostan Mixed Martial Arts Cup kicked off in Ufa

On December 15, the Bashkortostan Mixed Martial Arts Cup kicked off at the Dynamo stadium in Ufa. The competition was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the memory of the hero of the Soviet Union Veniamin Nedoshivin, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said at the opening of the tournament.

He noted that the republic was busy with sporting events: every day, a large number of sporting competitions were held in Bashkiria. It is no coincidence that Bashkortostan was recognized as the best region in Russia for the development of sports and three days ago was awarded the National Sports Prize. It was an effort and award of all coaches, athletes, sports veterans.

The famous boxer, State Duma deputy Nikolai Valuev also came to Ufa to support the athletes.

More than a dozen teams from cities and regions of the republic took part in the Bashkortostan Mixed Martial Arts Cup.

Here on the ice rink of the Dynamo stadium, a ball hockey match between the Ufa “Kirovets” and the “Akzhayyk” team from Uralsk also took place. The head of the region, along with guests and fans, cheered for our team.

In Bashkortostan, the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), led by President Ruslan Zaripov, is actively involved in the development of this sport. It was created on February 25, 2015. Currently, 1,200 people are engaged in this sport. 15 licensed trainers and 6 licensed judges work with them.

The Federation cultivates MMA in the cities of Ufa, Neftekamsk, Tuimazy, Belebey, Blagoveshchensk, Davlekanovo, Sibay, Meleuz, Salavat, Beloretsk, Ishimbay, as well as in Abzelilovsky, Alsheevsky, Burzyansky districts.
