Ufa native Semen Elistratov won relay at Short Track World Cup in Shanghai

The Ufa speed skater Semen Elistratov won a relay event at the Short Track World Cup in Shanghai.

The Russian men's team won the relay at a distance of 5,000 meters. Daniil Eybog, Pavel Sitnikov, Semen Elistratov and Victor An who competed for the Russian team won with a result of 7 minutes 5.316 seconds. Hungarians were in the second place, athletes from South Korea were the third.

Also, Semen Elistratov finished third in the final race at a distance of 1000 meters. However, the Russian athlete was disqualified for colliding with Park Ji Won from South Korea. The Korean speed skater became a bronze medalist. The victory was won by the Chinese Han Tianyu, followed by the representative of Hungary Shaoang Liu.

Recall that Simon Elistratov is the 2014 Olympic relay champion and bronze medalist of the 2018 Games.

The World Cup stage ended on December 8th. The next stage will be held in February in Dresden.
