Routes of Europe-Asia bike paths will be available for mass tourists

The Europe-Asia bicycle path project won two grants in 2019 - a federal one for 1.6 million rubles and a republican one for 770 thousand rubles. The funds will be used to develop bicycle tourism in the Republic of Bashkortostan. This was told at a press conference at the Bashinform agency by project leaders - Ksenia Salazanova, chairman of the cycling tourism commission of the Federation of Sports Tourism RB, member of the Bashkir branch of the Russian Geographical Society and Anton Sazonov, cycling traveler, director of Planeta non-profit organization (grant holder).

Anton Sazonov recently returned from a five-month bicycle trip to Europe. According to him, all the well-known cycle routes there run along public roads of local importance with low traffic. In Bashkiria, the network of such roads is very well developed; they can be used to travel around the republic on a bicycle. Convenient relief also contributes to this. Besides, the republic has many natural and cultural sights that can be visited using this mode of transport.

All possible routes, attractions, places for stops will be described on the website of the project terra-bashkiria.info. In order to get the description as complete as possible, much work should be done: to explore the areas, collect information about the locations, find interesting locations to visit.

The main route of the Europe-Asia bicycle trails runs from Abdullino to Miass and is about 600 km. Bicycle activists rode over it in the spring and summer of 2019. Further, it is supposed to develop routes - branches, they can be of varying complexity and duration. The presence of railways is taken into account when forming routes for tourist convenience.
