Ufa may host stage of European Rugby Champions Cup

The Chairman of the Board of the Russian Rugby Federation Stanislav Druzhinin arrived in Ufa. He met with the leadership of Bashkortostan. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of this sport in the region.

“Rugby is a spectacular and athletic sport,” said Acting Head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov. “We are very pleased to host international tournaments and discuss the further development of rugby in the republic.

According to Stanislav Druzhinin, Bashkir rugby school has a good future. Already, the "Ufa" club performs at all-Russian tournaments. 250 children are engaged in this dynamic sport in Bashkiria.

For the further development of rugby in the region, it is necessary to solve a number of organizational issues. Among them - the opening of rugby departments at children's and youth sports schools, the creation of a base for training. For this purpose, the Dynamo Ufa stadium, which may become one of the venues for the 2020 European Rugby Champions Cup stage, is under consideration.
