Radiy Khabirov met with head coach of Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov

On August 24, before the start of the match of the seventh round of the Russian Premier League between the clubs Ufa and Zenit (St. Petersburg), the Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov met with the head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov.

As te Bashinform News Agency earlier reported, the game took place at the Neftyanik Stadium and ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts. This is the first victory of the Ufa team over the St. Petersburg club in history.

Radiy Khabirov and Stanislav Cherchesov walked around Ufa and in an informal setting discussed issues of sports development in the republic, including whether the city needed a new football stadium.

According to the Acting Head of Bashkortostan, this should be a universal complex where not only sporting events but also cultural events, concerts can be held. There should also be a base for a football club, a club clothes, and memorabilia store. It is necessary to provide for other areas of work so that such a large-scale construction can be paid off.

The head of the region noted that the erection of the Center for Wrestling was launched recently. Besides, the construction of a volleyball arena is in the plans.

Radiy Khabirov told Stanislav Cherchesov about his impressions of the World Cup match between the national teams of Russia and Spain, which he was lucky to attend.

“The game was amazing,” said the head of the republic. “And our football players were great! Thank you very much for that match! ”

Ufa Football Club is currently playing in the Russian Premier League. The club finished the season 2017/2018 in the sixth place, which was the best result in the history of the team and allowed it to qualify in the Europa League for the first time.
