Radiy Khabirov: Wrestling Palace will house all wrestlers of Bashkortostan

Today in Ufa, a solemn ceremony of laying a capsule into the first stone of the new Republican Wrestling Center construction took place. The head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said that today his dream to pay tribute to this wonderful sport and all wrestling coaches and veterans had come true.

The head of the region noted that work was underway to ensure that in 2021 the republic would host the world wrestling championship among juniors. Although by this time the Wrestling Center will not be completed though it will be one of the best, unique and sought-after sports facilities in our republic.

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili noted that great champions and true patriots of Russia would be prepared here.

“This should be a place where each of the children should become stronger, more perfect and delight their parents, families, teachers with their achievements. The wrestling traditions are incredibly strong in Ufa and Bashkortostan, have historical and national roots. I want to say to young guys: do not neglect the opportunity that emerges today, do not be lazy, become stronger”, said State Duma deputy, three-time Olympic champion, Hero of Russia Alexander Karelin.

According to the son of Vladimir Borman, Alexei Borman, this will be one of the largest wrestling palaces in Russia, and it is a huge and priceless gift for the federation, which means that the traditions set up by his father are continuing in the republic.

The project of the Wrestling Center will undergo a state examination now. The total cost of design estimates is about 62 million rubles, of which 50 million rubles were allocated by the Bashneft company through the Social Targeted Programs Fund. The construction will begin in early 2020 and should be completed in two years.

Radiy Khabirov said that it would be the largest Wrestling Palace in Russia, with a total area of 29 thousand square meters.
