HC Salavat Yulaev lost first match against Ak Bars in President of Kazakhstan Cup

The Ufa Salavat Yulaev held the first official match of the “preseason” in Nur-Sultan against HC Ak Bars. The Kazan club defeated the players of Nikolai Tsulygin with a score of 2: 1. Moreover, both goals by Tatarstan hockey players scored in the net of Juha Metsola in the first five minutes of the match.

The rookie of Salavat Yulaev Nikita Soshnikov scored the only goal to Ak Bars net in this match. The team of Dmitry Kvartalny earned the first points in the tournament for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ak Bars did an excellent job in the transfer market this offseason. Salavat Yulaev was also able to strengthen its positions, but the Ufa team looked heavy in the last match in Kazakhstan. The coaching staff needs to work out the issue of hockey players endurance.
