Ufa foil fencers Anastasia Ivanova and Angelina Zagidullina as part of the Russian team became world champions in women's fencing at the championship in Budapest. Inna Deriglazova and Larisa Korobeynikova also took the same podium with the Ufa girls.

Russians began their ascent to the first place from confrontations with South Korean athletes (33:25). In the semifinals, our fencers were stronger than Americans (45:36). And the final battle with the Italians showed an equal fight.

“Just a few seconds before the end of the meeting, our rivals were ahead - 42:41. However, then the referees awarded Di Francisca a penalty hit, after which Deriglazova had only eight seconds to carry out a successful attack - 43:42”, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sport specified.
