Irek Yalalov presented International Children's Games in Federation Council

On June 26, at a meeting of the Federation Council, Senator from the Republic of Bashkortostan Irek Yalalov made a presentation on the International Children's Games, which will be held in Ufa from July 9 to July 14, 2019.
The city is fully ready to accept this large-scale sporting event. 1,200 athletes from 85 cities in 30 countries will participate in the event. 16 city venues, 5 sports facilities will be involved in the games, more than 400 volunteers will work with guests and participants. For the first time since the creation of the International Children's Games, football matches will take place at the main stadium of the city. International and Russian media will cover the Games.
In 2013, the 6th Winter International Children's Games took place in Ufa. Then, 800 children from 59 cities and 20 countries participated in the competition. Ufa is the only city in Russia where this large-scale sporting event was held, and it will also be the first city in the history of the ICG to host both winter and summer games.
This year the events of Football for Friendship will be an important part of the International Children's Games. The Football for Friendship is an international children's social program implemented by PJSC Gazprom, the general partner of the games, since 2013. Young project ambassadors from Bolivia, India, China, the Netherlands, and Russia will come to Ufa to tell about the nine values ​​of the program, hold a football match for friendship and present young athletes participating in the ICG a special award “For Commitment to Nine Values”.
In seven seasons, more than 6,000 children from 211 countries and regions took part in the Football for Friendship, more than 5 million people became part of the sports, educational and environmental activities of the program around the world.
