12 thousand participants rode over Ufa on 1000 Cyclists Day

For the ninth time, the capital of Bashkiria became a cycling center and hosted the “1000 Cyclists Day”. A column of fans of two-wheeled vehicles completed the 10-km route along the central streets of Ufa and the festival program continued in Vatan Park.

This year, not only Ufa residents but also residents of Salavat, Oktyabrsky, Neftekamsk, and Sterlitamak joined the cycle parade.

“We are holding this big sports festival in Bashkortostan as a key sports region of Russia. It's great that this year our bike ride became a republican event and covers other cities. We are a healthy team for a healthy lifestyle!”, said Ruslan Habibov, Minister of Youth Policy and Sport.

The former mayor of the capital of the republic, and now a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Irek Yalalov, also welcomed participants at the start of the column.

It should be noted that for the "Breaking Barriers" charity project, 85 thousand rubles have been collected.

According to the project leader “! Yo Velo” of Bashkortostan, the chairman of the Regional Youth Public Organization “Union of Cyclists of Bashkiria” Regina Bilalova, 30,000 people are expected to participate in all events in Ufa. The column consisted of 12 thousand. Another two thousand people participated in bicycle festivals, which were first held in the cities of the republic - Neftekamsk, Sterlitamak, Salavat, Oktyabrsky.
