Ufa foil fencer Timur Safin won bronze award at Grand Prix series stage

The trainee of the Ufa school of fencing, Olympic champion Timur Safin won a bronze medal of the Grand Prix series stage in Shanghai. He competed for awards with another representative of the Russian national team, Olympics champion Alexey Cheremisinov. The latter lost to another bronze medalist Ryan Choi Chun Yin from Hong Kong in the quarter-finals with a minimum score of 14:15, having finished the sixth, the Republican Fencing Federation informs.

The Ufa foil fencer lost to US representative Nick Itkin 7:15. In the final match of the Grand Prix series stage, the world ranking leader Italian Alessio Foconi defeated Itkin - 15:14.
