Young, beautiful and successful - Radiy Khabirov met with hockey players of Ufa Agidel

On April 29, coaches and hockey players of the Ufa Agidel were honored at the House of the Republic.

On April 25, the team confirmed the previously won status of champions, having won the Women’s Hockey League Cup for the second time. The final match with St. Petersburg club Dynamo ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the Ufa players.

The Acting Head of the region, Radiy Khabirov personally, on behalf of the 4-million republic, thanked the girls for such a significant victory and a substantial contribution to the sports achievements of Bashkortostan.

“Women's hockey has taken a worthy place in our region: there is a team, there is a wonderful coaching staff, and a history of victories. I assure you that we will continue to develop women's hockey, our financial obligations will be fulfilled. The team has a future in this part. I think that even more serious impetus to the development of women's hockey in the republic will be given by the world hockey championship, which Ufa is to host. We are waiting for this event. I am sure that among you there are candidates for the Russian national team, and we will root especially for it. We hope that a new generation of sportswomen will soon appear. In general, big sports victories are coming to our republic”, the head of the republic addressed to the girls.

“Big victories come through great work, great daily efforts and huge desire,” said Alexander Semak, the club’s sports director. “We are planning to prepare at least five players for the upcoming World Cup. Young girls of all ages are eager to get at Agidel, but we don’t take all. We have the best conditions in our club, good organization. We are grateful to the republic and the club for it”.

Following the meeting, the athletes handed over Radiy Khabirov a gold medal, and his wife was given a hockey jersey under 21 number.
