The second match of Salavat Yulaev and Avangard has traditionally started with high-speed hockey in Balashikha. However, no one managed to score in the first 20 minutes. According to statistics, Omsk was again ahead of Salavat Yulaev. Though, they succeeded only in the middle of the second period: Shirokov capitalized on the powerplay.

The Nikolay Tsulygin’s players equalized the score only at the beginning of the third period. Vladimir Tkachev hit the Avangard’s net four seconds before Sergei Shumakov stepped onto the ice - 1: 1. However, in three minutes, Taylor Beck spoiled the mood of the Salavat Yulaev fans by sending a second puck behind Juha Metsola. Before the final siren, the hawks distinguished themselves once more having won the defensive line of the Ufa team- 3: 1.

The task of the coaching staff was complicated. Two minutes before the end of the match, the Bashkir team went all-in and changed the goalkeeper to the sixth player. However, it only worsened the situation: the fourth puck hit an empty net.

The score in the series was 2-0 in favor of the Omsk club. The final confrontation of the Eastern Conference of the KHL moved to Ufa. The games will take place on April 2 and 4.
