International Children's Games budget in Ufa amounted to more than 167 million rubles

From July 9 to July 14, Ufa will host the 53rd International Children's Games (ICG). According to the Minister of Sports and Youth Policy of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov, 1,228 athletes from 75 cities of 31 countries will arrive in the capital.

“The peculiarity of these competitions is that the national teams of not the countries, but the cities will be represented,” the Minister noted at the weekly a briefing session in the regional government. “Nine Olympic sports are announced for the games. The grand opening will take place at the Ufa-Arena site.”

The ICG budget amounted to 167 million 200 thousand rubles (2 million 200 thousand - the budget of Ufa, 150 million - PJSC Gazprom, 15 million - the Ministry of Sports of Russia).

The head of the Republican Ministry of Youth Policy and Sport noted that the new Center for Sports Training in Kamyshlinskaya Street would be tested before the International Children's Games. In June 2019 regional competitions in athletics, fencing, swimming and Greco-Roman wrestling will be held there.
