Salavat Yulaev defeated Metallurg in second match of playoff series

UFA, 28 February 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. HC Salavat Yulaev planned to take revenge for the first offensive defeat from Metallurg (Magnitogorsk). It seemed from the first minutes that Salavat Yulaev yielded to the home team in speed and attacking actions. However, Linus Omark hit the net of Vasily Koshechkin in the fourth minute of the match. Before the first break, the advantage of the Ufa team was increased by Maxim Mayorov.

An unpleasant moment occurred with the Bashkir forward Anton Burdasov - an opponent struck his knee, for which he received a penalty till the end of the game.

In the second period, the puck twice more reached the net of Metallurg. Koshechkin failed to save a throw by Hartikainen. The latter went to the bench full of emotions. The second goalkeeper of Magnitogorsk, Artem Zagidulin, missed the fourth goal from the attacking line of Hartikainen-Kugryshev-Kempainen.

In the final part of the match, the team of Josef Yandach finally hit the Juha Metsola’s net: the puck barely crossed the goal line - 1: 4.

Thus, the Ufa tea equalized the score in the 1-1 series. The third meeting of the hockey confrontation of Ufa and Magnitogorsk will be held on March 1 in the capital of Bashkiria.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the second match of the Salavat Yulaev-Metallurg series in Magnitogorsk was visited by the Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov and the pupils of the “Gornyak” hockey school.
