Radiy Khabirov first talked to HC Salavat Yulaev players before playoffs

On February 24, the Acting Head of Bashkiria first met with the HC Salavat Yulaev players. The meeting was devoted to the upcoming start of the playoffs of the 11th KHL season.

“This is my first time talking with the team, and I am a bit far from hockey. However, I know that for the republic hockey and Salavat Yulaev is an elite, number one sport. We all, Bashkortostan residents are proud of it and cheer for it”, said Radiy Khabirov.

“You will not have room for mistake in the playoffs. We know that the team is united and strong. I think with such a team you can count on the maximum, that is, on the Gagarin Cup, ”said Radiy Khabirov. Once again, the Acting Head of Bashkortostan confirmed that the Government of the region "wants and will support professional hockey, as resources are available for it".

Radiy Khabirov delivered send-off speech in English for the Salavat Yulaev foreign players and personally congratulated goalkeeper Juha Metsola on his birthday. As a gift, he received a green sweater with the surname Khabirov and autographs of all the players of the club.

Recall that HC Salavat Yulaev will start the playoffs with the local Metallurg in Magnitogorsk on February 25. The series will continue in Ufa on March 1 and 3.
