The Russian pilot of the Italian Toro Rosso team, native of Ufa, Daniil Kvyat, showed the best time on the third day of the Formula 1 pre-season tests, which took place in Barcelona, Spain. He beat the leaders of the royal races, including the current world champion, the British Lewis Hamilton. The top three winners, in addition to Kvyat, also included Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Riccardo.

Daniil Kvyat had some problems in his sports career, two seasons he was haunted by failures. Last year, he worked as a test pilot at Ferarri. In late September, it was reported that Kvyat returns to the royal race - the Italian Formula 1 Toro Rosso team announced signing a contract with Daniil Kvyat for the 2019 season.

This year, the Russian racer will replace Pierre Gasli, who in the new season will play for the senior team of the Red Bull concern (Toro Rosso is the junior team of the Austrian company).

Daniil Kvyat showed his best result in Formula 1 in 2015, competing for the Red Bull team. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, he became the second.

As part of the Toro Rosso Kvyat made his debut in Formula 1 in 2014. The driver spent one season in the junior team, after which he moved to Red Bull, where he replaced the four-time F-1 champion Sebastian Vettel, who left for Ferrari. At the beginning of the 2016 season, Kvyat was transferred back to Toro Rosso, and after the US Grand Prix 2017, the team announced the dismissal of the driver.
